Experience Our Parks

Anytime is a perfect time to enjoy the outdoors and your area parks. We have 8 park or play facilities that are conveniently located throughout the Carrboro community. From the 55-acre Anderson Community Park to the smaller neighborhood parks, Carrboro provides outdoor facilities for a variety of leisure experiences. You can enjoy the outdoors as you play horseshoes, tennis or softball, go fishing, take a walk or have a picnic. All park facilities (unless otherwise noted) are open from 7 a.m. until dark, except for lighted facilities, which close at 11 p.m.

Park Use Guidelines 
Town of Carrboro Parks are shared public spaces for your enjoyment. We want you to have a fun and safe time. Be courteous and respectful to others, and please keep the area clean. 


Please remember to follow these guidelines when visiting our parks: 

  • Park hours are sunrise to sunset. 

  • Athletic events occurring after sunset will conclude and parks will be vacated by 11pm. 

  • All pets must be on a 6-foot leash.

  • Pet waste must be disposed of properly.

  • Smoking, vaping, illegal drugs, and alcoholic beverages are not permitted. 

  • Leave wildlife, plants, and minerals undisturbed.

  • Camping and overnight sleeping is not permitted. 

  • Foul language or disruptive behavior is not appropriate for our parks that are open to all ages. 

  • Wheeled riding on sidewalks and courts is not allowed. 

  • Fires must be contained to the designated grill areas. 

  • Weapons are prohibited, except as permitted by NCGS12-415

  • Solicitation, fundraising, and commercial activity must have a Town of Carrboro permit. 

  • Violation of park guidelines shall be a misdemeanor as provided by NCGS14-4

  • For emergencies, please call 911

  • Town of Carrboro maintains all parks. For maintenance concerns please contact 919-918-7384



Reservations

If the reservation requires insurance, the event sponsor must sign the reservation contract to hold harmless, defend and indemnify the Town of Carrboro, provide general liability insurance with a minimum limit of $1 million general liability coverage endorsed to name the town as an additional insured and provide a certificate for documentation.

Insurance is needed if the event includes:

  • Expected attendance of over 500
  • Food will be served, sold and / or given to the general public
  • Large amounts of cash ($1000 or more) or quantities of merchandise will be brought onto town property
  • Major physical activity and moderate / severe exposure to participants

Our online registration can be used to look for availability of facilities to reserve. The actual rental process requires you to come into the department or to utilize mail for some facilities.
