Cooking with Tots |
|
Tots will have age-appropriate fun and enjoy healthy
snacks without cooking while creating special treats
for the holidays. The workshops will include a special
recipe and a holiday story. Recipes may include Kindness
Cookies, Raisin Energy Snacks, and Quick Fruit Kabobs.

Dance & Creative Movement |
|
This class is a fun introduction to dance focusing
on developmental skills using music, movement and make
believe. Young dancers experiment with new ways to move
their bodies, both directed and freeform with attention
to musicality and rhythm. Age-appropriate skills, such
as counting, sequential organization, spatial awareness
and comparative abstract concepts are woven into the
class structure. A typical class will incorporate ballet
form, creative play and motor skill enhancement all
in a format that is innovative and fun.

Dance & Technique NEW! |
|
This class introduces the basic steps of Jazz, Ballet
and Modern. The class begins with basic stretching and
conditioning of the body core, focusing on isolations
of body parts and the learning of basic dance steps.
We will then proceed with across the floor combinations
and explore the dance elements of space and time as
well as shapes and levels. Each class will build up
to a routine of the basic steps and technique learned
throughout the class. No class 10/9 & 11/27.

Drawing |
|
Come have fun and explore the artist that you are while
we experiment with markers, crayons, charcoals, drawing
pencils, chalks, watercolor paints and lots of interesting
objects. Students will also learn how movement and music
can enhance the drawing process. As a group, we will
choose a subject to study and draw in depth. No class

Drawing - Intermediate NEW! |
|
This class is for students who have mastered basic
drawing skills and are ready to learn more. Participants
will practice creating depth in a drawing, making objects
appear 3-D and using 'negative space' to compose a picture.
We will draw still life using charcoal, practice contour
drawing, and drawing people. Time permitting we will
work on subject matter the participants choose ranging
from realistic to abstract. All art supplies are provided
and students may bring their own supplies if they wish.

Fashion Design NEW! |
|
Do you want to display your unique sense of style?
Are you a fan of the hit show 'Project Runway'? Well
in this fashion design class you will be the fashion
designer. What's your task, you ask? Turn an ordinary
t-shirt into a unique outfit. You can add, take away,
cut, dye, and sew, whatever you choose to your t-shirt.
All you need is your imagination! Bring five plain white
t-shirts in different sizes to class. $10 additional
cost per student will be paid to the instructor for
materials. At the end of the class we will have a fashion
to display your works of fashionable art! Friends and
family are invited.

GET INVOLVED
Much of the vitality of life in Carrboro is due to the
active involvement of citizens in the community. Volunteers
of all ages regularly
share their talents, skills, and ideas by planning or
assisting with large events, serving on town advisory
boards, or coaching a youth sports team. While some
activities require the contribution of many hours others
call for only a few hours of time. Not only can you
share your talents, you can have fun, make new friends
and discover more about your town.
