Youth Basketball League Registration |
|
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
The Carrboro Recreation and Parks Department will be
sponsoring a Youth Basketball Program for ages 6-15
(as of October 15, 2008). Registration will begin, for
Carrboro residents, Wednesday, September 3rd (8:30am)
at the Carrboro Century Center, 100 N. Greensboro St.
Orange County residents will register beginning Thursday,
September 4th (8:30am) at the Carrboro Century Center.
Non-Orange County residents will register beginning
Monday, September 8th. All other days of registration
will occur during office hours Monday - Friday 8:30-5pm
at the Recreation office, Carrboro Century Center, 100
N. Greensboro St. Carrboro. The fee is $52 for Orange
County residents and $91 for non-Orange County residents.
Registration forms must be signed by a parent/guardian
and are accepted on a first come first serve basis.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
The Carrboro Recreation and Parks Department is currently
accepting volunteer coach's applications for the 2008
- 2009 Youth Basketball Program. Coaches must exhibit
the ability to organize practices and communicate effectively
with players, parents, and Recreation Department staff.
They must also exhibit the ability to teach proper playing
skills and fundamentals, proper sportsmanship, and provide
an enjoyable atmosphere at practices and games. Initial
deadline for all applications is Friday, August 15th.

Sunday Series Baseball Registration |

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
The Carrboro Recreation and Parks Department will be
sponsoring a series of Baseball instructional clinics
for youth ages 6-10. Clinics offered include: Defense
(September 21), and Offense (September 28). The fee
is $15 per clinic and the time varies based upon the
age group. Registration for all clinics will begin Wednesday,
September 3rd at the Recreation Department, 100 N. Greensboro
Street in Carrboro. Pre-registration required. For more

CLASS Soccer Registration |
| PUBLIC
SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
The Carrboro Recreation & Parks Department is sponsoring
C.L.A.S.S. (Children Learning Athletic Sports Skills)
soccer for kids and their parents. The program is designed
for children 4 to 6 years old as of the start of the
class. The goal of the program is to introduce the fundamentals
of soccer to the participant and parent. The instructor
guides both the child and parent in understanding the
skills of passing, dribbling, trapping and shooting.
Parent and child will be encouraged to practice the
skills learned at home. Parent participation is a major
part of this program. The program will be held on Saturday's
(9:00am-10:00am) from September 6th to October 11th.
The cost is $47/child. Pre-registration is required
and will begin Monday, May 7th at the Carrboro Recreation
& Parks Department, 100 N. Greensboro St. Space

Volleyball Class Registration |
| PUBLIC
SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
The Carrboro Recreation and Parks Department will be
sponsoring a volleyball class for youth ages 10-13.
This class is designed to introduce and work on the
fundamentals of volleyball. Volunteer instructors guide
the participant in understanding the skills of bumping,
setting, spiking, and blocking. Registration begins
Monday, May 5th at the Carrboro Century Center, 100
N. Greensboro St., in Carrboro. Fee is $47 per player
and space is limited. The class will take place on Sunday's
September 7th - October 12th from 1:00pm-2:15pm. For
