South Greensboro Street Sidewalk Project

Two remote public meetings were held on January 28th and January 30th .  The meetings included an update and presentation on the conceptual plan for the project.

Project Overview

In April 2020, the Town of Carrboro entered into a contract with Ramey Kemp Associates (RKA) to perform engineering services for survey and design work for the South Greensboro Street Sidewalk project. This project proposes constructing a sidewalk along one side of South Greensboro Street from Carr Street to Public Works Drive. This project will include pedestrian safety improvements at intersections along with stormwater improvements where needed. Additionally, a separate analysis of the existing roadway capacity will be conducted to determine the feasibility of reducing the number of vehicle lanes on South Greensboro Street and adding bicycle lanes between the roundabout and the bridge over Morgan Creek (where the bicycle lanes currently end).
